Mária Valachyová
Chief Economist
Mária Valachyová leads the research team of Slovenská sporiteľňa since 2011. She has been analyzing Slovak macroeconomic and banking sector environment for 15 years. Her main focus areas include the Slovak economy, Slovak banking market and market research (client surveys). She graduated from the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute (CERGE-EI) in Prague, with focus on monetary economics, econometrics and economy of transition countries. She is also a graduate of the University of Economics in Bratislava. In 2020 she became the Head of Strategy and Customer Experience Division.

Matej Horňák
Analyst
Matej Horňák focuses on the macroeconomic development of the Slovak economy. He graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava. He chose analysis of the linkages between industry and services in the economy as his thesis. During his studies, he worked as research assistant at Industriewissenschaftliches Institut in Vienna and in February 2020 he joined Slovenská sporiteľňa.
Matej Bašták
Analyst
Matej Bašták deals mainly with analyzes of the Slovak banking sector and financial markets. He completed his master's degree in finance at Comenius University in Bratislava and at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He later expanded his qualifications in investment and financial analysis by successfully completing a prestigious CFA program. It has been a part of Slovenská sporiteľňa's analytical team since 2017.

Marián Kočiš
Analyst
Marian Kočiš focuses on macroeconomic and strategic analysis within the Slovak economy. He studied at the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Business of the University of Presov. He has been working in the banking sector since 2013, gaining experience and expertise mainly in the field of product management for investment and deposit products. Since the beginning of 2023, he has been part of the analytical team of Slovenská sporiteľna.
