Slovenská sporiteľňa continues to deliver strong operating performance in the third quarter of 2026

“After three quarters, we continue to deliver strong performance, building on a successful first half of the year. Revenue growth and improving efficiency are giving us the room to further develop the bank and bring new services to our clients. What matters to us is that our strong financial results are also reflected in how simply and effectively we can help people manage their finances. That is why, in the third quarter, we introduced George AI, another step towards banking that helps people not only make payments, but also better understand their money,” says Michaela Bauer, CEO and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Slovenská sporiteľňa.

“Our operating profit increased by almost one fifth year-on-year, driven primarily by significant growth in both net interest income and net income from fees and commissions. We have therefore continued the positive trend from the first half of the year while keeping costs under control. As a result, we can convert a larger share of our revenues into operating profit. We reduced the cost-to-income ratio by more than three percentage points, bringing it below 38 percent. At the same time, we are improving efficiency while continuing to invest in the modernisation of the bank and its digital services,” says Slavomír Seemann, Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of Slovenská sporiteľňa.

Net interest income went up by 11.6% y/y from EUR 473.7 million to EUR 528.4 million. Net fee and commission income increased by 10.3% y/y from EUR 182.1 million to EUR 200.8 million. Growth was driven primarily by higher income from services related to investments in mutual funds, insurance brokerage commissions, and income associated with payment services.

The bank recorded a net trading profit of EUR 17.1 million (it was EUR 16.1 million in 2025), which is mainly attributable to derivative transactions.
