Marek Sásik is the new Member of the Board of Directors of Slovenská sporiteľňa
Slovakia’s largest bank has a new member of the Board of Directors with responsibility for corporate banking and financial markets. Marek Sásik, currently an advisor to the Board of Directors, replaces Norbert Hovančák, who joined the management at Česká spořitelna in August.

“I'm delighted to take the helm of a team I've been part of for most of my career and one that's very close to my heart. We'll continue working to be a trusted advisor for our clients, supporting them as they build their financial health. Blending digital solutions with the human factor will help us deliver an excellent client experience,” said Marek Sásik.
Marek has worked for Slovenská sporiteľňa for over 20 years with just one short break. He started as a relationship manager for corporate clients and went on to lead teams responsible for real estate financing as well as project and syndicated financing, before heading corporate risk management for nearly seven years. He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Bratislava and holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
“I’m very pleased that the job went to an internal candidate with over 20 years’ experience in our bank. Marek has the expertise in both corporate banking and risk management to make his new role a success. Under his leadership, we will continue our successful transformation of corporate banking with a focus on digital technologies, financial health and efficiency,” commented our CEO Peter Krutil on the board change.
The current team on the Board of Directors of Slovenská sporiteľňa consists of:
- Peter Krutil – Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO
- Pavel Cetkovský – board member responsible for risk management
- Milan Hain – board member responsible for IT and banking operations
- Juraj Barta – board member responsible for retail banking
- Marek Sásik – board member responsible for corporate banking and financial markets
From March 2026, the CEO role at Slovenská sporiteľňa will be taken over by Michaela Bauer, who is transferring from ČSOB and KBC Group. She will succeed Peter Krutil, who has decided to pursue a new career and will be leaving the Bank on 31 March 2026.
