Alfred Svoboda is a Chairman of the Board of Directors of Factoring Slovenskej sporiteľne

Since 1 November 2007, Alfred Svoboda is a Chairman of the Board of Directors of Factoring Slovenskej sporiteľne.

Alfred Svoboda (50) started his professional career with the Austrian bank Creditanstalt in Vienna in 1979 and moved to Prague in 1991, where he participated in founding of its Czech subsidiary. He acted as Head of the local Corporate Banking Division. After his return to Vienna in 1996, he worked in Creditanstalt Bratislava and later in Bank Austria Creditanstalt Slovakia as a Board Member responsible for Credit Risk Management.

In 2001, he joined Erste Bank and was transferred to Slovenská sporiteľňa, a. s. as Head of Credit Risk Division, a position he held until October 2007. Since 1 November 2007, Alfred Svoboda is a Chairman of the Board of Directors of Factoring Slovenskej sporiteľne.

Alfred Svoboda is of Austrian nationality, speaks also English and Slovak. He is married and has two daughters.

Slovenská sporiteľňa is with 2.5 million clients the largest commercial bank in Slovakia. In 2007, it was awarded the Best Bank in Slovakia by Global Finance. Factoring Slovenskej sporiteľne is the largest factoring company in Slovakia and founder of the Association of Factoring Companies. It offers complex services in the field of receivables financing and administration, including insurance against the risk of customers’ failure to pay the clients.

Erste Bank with more than 50,000 employees provides services to more than 16 million clients in over 2,700 branches in 8 countries and is one of the leading financial service providers in CEE countries. As of 30 June 2007, the total assets of Erste Bank reached EUR 198 billion, the net profit accounted for EUR 566 million and ROE was 13.8%.
